I attended Runway Thunder at Frangipani Bar, A cocktail night with young rising designers showcasing their works as the night goes by. The designers that took part were Alexandrea Yeo, Nurita harith, Miky tan, Justin Yap, Jimmy Lim & PU3.
Well, the main reason i attended that event was to support ol’ Alexandrea~!
So initially, Damien, Benson, Wei Wei and Kittie was suppose to come along. But somehow, I ended up with only Kittie haha. That clearly means, more sampatness for us, but the day started too early for us. CAD & Garments and composition classes from 9am – 6pm and we were dead beat before the event started.
To top it off, the show was delayed from 8pm to 10.30pm. Brilliance.
But It was a fun night. So many chica people. All the bags that attended were no ordinary lesser bags too, from Marc Jacob’s stam bag to Chanel 2.55, Fendi Spy, Balenciaga City bags, Pradas and YSLs.
Now let the pictures do the talking!

We had dinner at Baan’s right opposite Frangipani. Awesome Thai restuarant.

Waiting sessions were spent taking irrelevant pictures.

Some nice chic people I saw, Alexandrea Yeo in her own designs, the middle picture, someone who I think looks like something the sartorialist would like, and Maybritt of tongue in chic, on-the-go style with a lovely prada bag.
And then the show began…

Alexandrea yeo’s design. you can check her out at http://the-3rdsex.com or her blog http://the3rdsex.wordpress.com/

Nurita Harith’s designs, Jimmy Lim’s and Justin yap’s designs.
I missed out on Miky Tan’s and PU3’s designs cause I had to go off early. So uhm you guys can maybe check that out on http://www.tonguechic.com

Big thanks to Kittie for accompanying me the whole night!
That night I had on, Just Cavalli V-neck Tee, Zara Knitted cardigan, Dries Van Noten Pants, Gucci belt, Dolce & Gabbana shoes and my Yves Saint Laurent Muse. Kittie had on Hermes scarf, Vintage off shoulder top and leggings plus chica Adidas inspired lace-up heels!
Overall, it was fun, so many stylish people in a place, that’s kinda rare in Malaysia, the only downturn in the event was the delay and the incosiderate-selfish-pea-brain-douchebag people ( some handful of them) who were walking around, loitering at areas where they were told not to stand at, for the models to walk. They just stood on the model’s path like a statue from Easter island and blocked the model’s way.
Then there was this guy who kept gropping his girl’s ass infront of me and blocked my vision when i was trying to take pictures. GET A ROOM! Don’t be a cheapo! There’s so many at the price of RM70 in Changkat street!
Were they here for the show or to parade their mediocre standards (No, i’m not saying I have a standard or any) with just popping a few shots of 29.90 Baileys? Have some respect for the designers, models and event please. You didn’t pay to enter the party in the first place. Sheesh.
Well, it was still fun nonetheless. Great job Alex!
Okay, remember the Christian Dior 1947 Samourai woven bags for the 2007 ready-to-wear show?
I’m just posting this to revisit the beauties Dior made last year. Inspired by the textures and armours on a Samourai warrior. though many says there’s too much going on or too messy yada yada, I personally find this bag a work of art, and a statement bag worth investing. The handles looks like it may amputate your arm, but sometimes, fashion isn’t about compromising. Right?

I made the image larger so you could see the details. Pictures from style.com
Cheers!

I love the white bag in the second photo!! Is it YSL? =D
Ashleigh > yes it is! it’s the iconic YSL muse bag! go get one! XD
Haha! I knew it! I want one too, but with my shoestring student’s budget, I don’t think I’ll even be able to afford the cheaper, knock-off ones. =(
Ashleigh > not many around msia can appreciate YSL kan? I’m so happy someone out there still does lol! Well, their stuff are really expensive, but investing in one is a good idea hehe. save up!
clock > yeah, can’t afford a downtown, but then, buy myself an oversized muse. My retail life makes so much sense. thanks for pointing that out.
